My wife has offered for our anniversary to let me get my frame powder coated. I'm not sure if it's worth it, for the price of powder coating, I can buy the air compressor i've been wanting with accessories to make the suspension dissasembly go quicker. I think I would get more use out of the air compressor, what do you guys think.

just a thought if you get a compressor make shure its a two stage one, not mutch more in price huge diff in wait time. I have a 7hp 60 gal. should have got the two stage one.

what can i say its verry nice, did mine they sandblasted the frame, baked it so as to burn off the remaining crud that might come from the cracks/ poors, phosphate washed it then coated it.
basically drop off and pick up done ready for the reassembally.

I ts a tough callboth are just as nice !

I would get the compressor. Your gonna need to tear things apart. I just recently got a compressor, I don't understand how I got by without it!

If I ever completly take a truck apart I know I will. I think if the truck is completly disasembled, you might as well make it so it will never have to be done again.

Buy the air compressor and a sandblaster. Blast your frame, then paint it with POR-15's new semi-gloss black.

All my reasons are personal.

My dad REFUSES to go halvsies with me on a decent compressor, and I'm big on quality of equipment. He's got it in his head that a little 3 horse single stage will be able to do everything I need. Therefore, I either lay down $1000 for the one I really want, or I start thinking realistic about space, my ability to maintain the equipment at HIS place, etc. I've decided to farm-out sand blasting, powder coating, and the body painting. I'm still gonna weld, cut and fabricate, but....
