Truck running too cool?
I've noticed in the last month or so it takes my truck forever to warm up and let me tell you, she runs horrible! I'll let it warm up for several minutes and even after I've been on the Highway for a few it's still luke warm. Eventualy it warms up to normal temp but them it cools down again. I'll check the thermostat, it's probably a 160, 190 should be about right.

I like to run them between 180&190 on the temp with iron heads. with the alum heads on the longhorn, I have to run about 190-195 just to get it to run right! thats one of the drawback on aluminum, it gets rid of heat fast.

Your thermostat may have failed in the open position. Mine did that. It failed open, and the truck ran too cool. I replaced it and now it works like it's supposed to.
