Finally Blazer pics

Here are a couple of pics of my 2wd Blazer tub. This project has been on hold for at least 5 years now. When I moved 5 years ago this had to sit outside under a tarp for a few months and I had parts of the dash and doors stripped to bare metal and they now have surface rust. I just bought a 72 cheyenne swb fleetside and it is a driver but not very nice looking so it has inspired me to dust off the blazer as well. I have always regretted tearing this down this far. The only rust was two small spots on the floor pans on both sides but I replaced the entire sections. I have shaved the body for the most part and I am going to shave the firewall further so that will be redone. I am stealing parts from the Blazer for the truck. My new gm grille assy and bumper goes to the truck as I just bought a 67 front end for the Blazer from Austin, Tx. last weekend. I will try to keep the projects going and the pics flowing. Wish me luck to finish this next year this time.
Carlos

Re: Finally Blazer pics

It's tough when projects stall for whatever reason, glad to see your picking away at it again.

Tearing down to far seems to be pretty common, welcome to the club.

Great work so far, thanks for the pics.

Re: Finally Blazer pics

Well, the body will be completely shaved, all that is left to finish is the cowl panel vent grilles, and the firewall will be shaved further to make both sides look the same. I had a 5/7 static drop with coil overs in the rear but that will now be donated to the new 72 truck I just bought and the Blazer will get the air bag treatment. Paint her viper red and I have a leather interior out of a sebring convertible for it with the seat belts mounted in the seats. Cut down the doors to match the bedsides and chop the windshield frame two inches and lean it back just a little bit. It is going to be a permanent roadster. My plans are to hopefully finish it for next year this time for Texas Heatwave truck show.

I didn't know you had any trucks! Thought you just talked alot Looking good nice to see some pics of it finally. My 71 has been on the 6yr tear down plan and counting now, It sucks since it was a great driver before I went insane!

Re: Finally Blazer pics

Funny Rock!!! LOL!!!! I am like you, only I work too much!! I only come home one night during the week and on the weekends so you know how it is spending "quality time" at home. I work out of town during the week and now my friend that owns a restoration shop wants me to help him restore another 67 shelby gt 500 with him. The other one we did last year won first in his class at the Houston Autorama. That went over like a turd with my girlfriend. Thanks for the replies.
