Got carried away with rattle can paint

Was touching up bondo/primer on passenger door with Krylon from Walmart, pretty close match, looked so good I covered up all the rusty spots. Some day I'm going to give it a foam roller Rustoleum paint job (thread in paint section, links to mopar forum, very interesting way to paint)

good enough for now.
Try givin it a good coat of wax, may just bring out the old paint and make it that much closer.

Re: Got carried away with rattle can paint

I actually did the same thing on my old ride. The old 69 GMC I had had a junk drivers side door and tail gate when i got it. I still had the totalled Longhorn on hand so i took those two parts off. I refused to install blue panels on a red truck, and really didn't wanna go with a couple primered parts either. So I dug around in the shed, and found some cans of dupli-color red spray paint for my old honda that I had purchaced about 5 years before. It was close enough to make me very happy.

Cool red truck Longhorn! I would have probably sprayed more areas, but only had 6 cans of paint. It looked pretty good except for right side of the hood, takes a little to overlap with those cheap can spray nozzles that don't make a correct pattern. It was Krylon Jade Satin, and was a pretty close match. Yup, think I will paint the bumpers.

Re: Got carried away with rattle can paint

Looks like the same color as my 69. Gonna check out walmart to paint some of my floor and rocker patchpanels until I can do them proper.

Cool, my '69 is amost the came color. At least I'm assuming the cab color is the original. Hood, bed, and tailgate are all different colors. It's kind of like a clown car.
