Mmmm, fresh rubber...
There's a set of Yokohama Avid S/Ts sitting in the garage right now. 2 245/60-15s, and 2 275/70-15s. Hehe. My Radial T/As have had it, and these tires were both better-rated and cheaper than the Radial T/As over at Tirerack.com. They certainly look like a much more modern design.
If I'm lucky, I'll get them on tomorrow before I go dragracing; chances are, though, I'll send the BFG's off in style. What tires are you guys running? Just out of curiosity.

The least you could do would be show us some pics of the tires!

Well, it'll be at least Sunday before I can actually get them (since the easiest way for me to get pics is to take video and rip from the video...but my computer is in Tucson and I won't be until Sunday)..
Here is a link to Yokohama's page on the tires... ...and not even Yokohama has a good pic of what these things look like. Well, here's a close-up of the tread.

Sweet, got the tires on while I went to my pre-trial...which went REALLY, REALLY well, but that's another thread.

Nah, didn't send the old ones off in style after all...that would've happened tonight...
I like these tires. There's a bit (okay, probably WAY) too much air pressure in them at the moment (I don't know what they're set at, didn't get a chance to get an air gauge on them after I picked it up) but with a little bit of heat (just stand on it and light 'em up for not quite a second) they work really well. I was launching just about as well as I was with my Radial T/As...and this is with a deeper first and about 30hp or more than I had with the T/As! Current verdict: Two thumbs up! Cheap, too...from Discount Tire, I was looking at nearly $100/tire for Radial T/As, and they don't carry the Avid S/Ts yet. Ordering mine from TireRack was $285.97 shipped (slightly obscene, the shipping cost more than any one tire!) and the local Exxon mounted and balanced them with new valvestems and disposed the old ones for $46.

costco has the best price on radial t/a's that i have found.
when i get the tires rotated (like today) they always act like i dont know that my rear tires are larger than the fronts and inform me that they are.

I didn't even think about Costco...what're their prices on Radial T/As?
I don't think I'll go back to T/As, though...I like these Yokohamas a lot.
