Re: Carpet Group Purchase

Glad to see that you guys are receiving them already!

If anybody has any followup questions, comments, praise or complaints, (And I always love pictures!!!) please feel free to email me or PM me at any time. My vendor subscription is up for renewal, and I've decided not to renew it for now. I'm still going to be on the forum all the time, but the vendor subscription really hasn't worked as I'd hoped. But... I'm still an email away for anybody who wants something, or if anybody who's needs any followup information, installation help, or whatever else. I'm not going away... I'll still be asking a bunch of stupid questions on the 73-87 forum. :p

I got mine on thursday... unrolled it and it looks nice. Very nice.
I'll let you know how it fits probably in 10 years at this rate.

Re: Carpet Group Purchase

Did the carpet ordered for the 67-72 trucks go all the way to the back of the cab? My tank is removed and I am planning on buckets, so I need a carpet that goes all the way to the back.

Re: Carpet Group Purchase

What I was told by the manufacturer is that the carpet will extend to the rear wall of the truck and would need to be trimmed to fit with the gas tank installed, so I do believe that there should be enough to extend to the back.

Re: Carpet Group Purchase

Help me Jim,
Checked the tracking and last entry says arrived in Phx on 06/09 no entry since. I called UPS to see what the deal is and they said "Sorry Sir, your package is lost". "Please have the shipper contact us so we can attempt to track it". I know you're not the shipper? They won't tell me anything? Can you help me resolve this?

Thanks,
Shawn

Jim,
Got mine today (06-13) and the carpet looks like good stuff. I'll try to get it in my '82 before next weekend. The floormats look nice!

Thanks for doing this for everybody that actually ordered!

Lou,
I'll review your order to make sure I didn't make a mistake ordering it, and once I get your pic I'll get on the phone with them and take care of it. Either way I'll make sure you get the right stuff. In the meantime, please make sure the carpet doesn't get modified/cut/installed or anything like that so that it can stay in returnable condition.

Thanks guys, and my apologies for the hassles. I'll get them straightened out right away.

--Jim

No trouble Jim,
Thanks for getting on it so fast. I am not anywhere near the carpet install stage anyways.
Thanks again,
Shawn

Re: Carpet Group Purchase

Did anyone that was part of this GP install this carpet in their low hump truck? If so can you tell me how it fit your ride?

My tan carpet has turned yellow, and a lot of the black and gray carpets that I sold have turned green.

Because of that, I found a better product that is well worth the cost over the more common ACC.
Ive had ACC black carpet in my s10 for almost 4 yrs and it looks as good as the day I installed it. How old was your carpet before it turned green?

My tan carpet turned yellow within about 12-15 months. Those with gray and black carpet have had varied complaints, but generally seem to be from 1-2 years.

Keep in mind that with f-bodies (which is what I sell 95% of my carpet for), the rear hatch carpet is in the sun all day long. The carpet on the floor of the truck probably doesn't see the same kind of sun that the hatch of an f-body sees, so it will take longer for the fading to occur. If your vehicle is garaged most of the time, you may be fortunate enough to never experience significant fading.

My truck definitely never see's the garage. I understand what you mean about direct exposure to sunlight. The sun barely gets down to my carpet. I guess I just lucked out. Not sure if Im going to put carpet in the burban yet. The back is getting wood planks for sure.
