Verifing engine #
I have a 327 engine,that is what I was told anyway.Can someone verify the #s for me.The numbers are 3956618.Thanks

I don't know what you mean by the term,front pad.Above the # it looks like this:
20 GM 3956618 I did pull it from a 68 1/2 ton.

Looking at the front of the engine, on the passenger side of the engine where the bottom of the head meets the block, should be a flat machined surface that will have some numbers and letters stamped into it. If you can find that, it will narrow down exactly what the engine is and what it was in from the factory BUT that is assuming that the engine has not been decked as that would remove the stamped numbers. Also, are the heads on it, if so, pull the valve covers and ge the numbers off the heads as that may help as well...

The engine suffix FB indicates that it is a 1969 327 from a full size car.
