YH6 Sequoia Special?

what is that trim package? Is it special edition? My friend's 84 has it and I've never heard of it.

Re: YH6 Sequoia Special?

YH6 is a free Bonus Value Option Package or Super Saver Package. As I said below. I don't know what it comes with...

Re: YH6 Sequoia Special?

so is it rare or common?

anybody ever compared a YH6 to a non YH6 truck that is otherwise the same to try and see what it had? Would the dealer know?

Re: YH6 Sequoia Special?

Here are some old posts dealing with this issue...

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ad.php?t=66554

There seem to be quite a few out there, although they aren't readily identifiable without looking at the option listing. I have seen a number of them in wrecking yards, and also on ebay.

Re: YH6 Sequoia Special?

Actually no. The Sequoia Special is a marketing package, not a trim level. Ordering a Sequoia Special doesn't necessarily mean you got all of the things you would get with a Silverado or Sierra Classic (which were the highest trim levels from 75-87). It was just a way to combine options to make a vehicle less expensive for the buyer so GM could sell more trucks.

They still do this today with option groups.

Re: YH6 Sequoia Special?

well it's a sequoia Sierra Classic (as you can see on the RPO sheet)....so basically, what ISN'T on this truck is probably the best question to ask (other than a tachometer, which may change if he chooses to put one on like I did)

Re: YH6 Sequoia Special?

I think it equates to Chevrolet's "Bonanza" trim level, but without the fender emblems that go with it... a grouping of more options / less options to, as stated above, sell more units.

I think its kinda like cleaning out the General's closet of extra "stuff"...

Scroll down to KIILew's answer.

Look at his answer it will tell you what you need to know. al the yh6 was was a buy 3 get one free type deal offered by GM. It just makes it cheeper for the buyer. Basically if you bought a grouping of set options then you got an option adde at noo charge to you. all that the glove box sticker means is that the truck had the speciel deal attached to its sale
