Re: 1985 Sierra Classic

nothing really all that special about a Sierra Classic, look at any other 83-87 long wide 4x4 and picture it black with white roof and there ya go... however, there is a thread titled Post your ride 73-87, you might scroll through the 15 or so pages...

Re: 1985 Sierra Classic

A Silverado is the top trim package on a Chev and the Sierra Classic is the top trim level on a GMC. That sounds like an interesting truck to me. If it isnt all rusted out it'd make a great winter driver especially with the snow you get in Maine..

I remember when I was a kid ( I'm talking about 1957/58 here) and lived in the east my uncle took me a place called Sebago Lake and I always remember how beautiful that lake was. Do you know it or live near it?

Re: 1985 Sierra Classic

Yes i do know where it is. Ive been by it a few times, however my dad has icefished it before like a long time ago.. But we want to find time after we build our house which is 85% done.. and go relax...

The truck has, New fenders, new doors new gas tank (Plastic), cab corners, rocker panels and quite a bit more.. Has Stock dual exhaust on it, with the huge mufflers... which i might keep.. has a tape deck player in it.. looks like stock radio, the owner 81yrs old, says its 90% stock, the truck came with a plow, and he sold it.. has the spare tire mounted in front of the grille.. so you dont see the GMC emblem, I might take that tire off, and put it in the bed.. Rust isnt Bad under the truck.. no loose U-joints, Motor doesnt burn oil.. hes asking 2500 But will take 2000, since hes been trying to sell it for 10yrs..

Re: 1985 Sierra Classic

Remember with GMC you "Get More Crap" than you do with the other brands.

Pictured is an 84 GMC Sierra Classic. It has all the same items that my son's 85 Silverado had and then maybe some heavier duty springs and sway bars.

Yea, I noticed GMC trucks, seem to be built Stonger than Chevys's, but the Chevys are still built better than Ford or dodge..

Re: 1985 Sierra Classic

Same as a silverado. Chevy and GMC's were all built the same around 70 IIRC.

Heres a pic of my 86 2wd, no differences in it and the chevy counterpart. I use to tell my dad he had a Generic Model Chevy (GMC).
