Pics of 69 truck lowered
Got the Brakes done and the Lowering springs in the front did the trick but the springs in the back didn't get it down low enough. Looks like I am going to have to make some lowering shims to go under the axle. Is there any other options I am overlooking?
Thanks, JRB |

Hard to tell with it parked on a slope but it looks pretty good.

Re: Pics of 69 truck lowered
That front came down nice. It was pretty perky with those BB springs. Did you put drop springs in the back? If so, exchange them back for lower ones. That or go with lowering blocks like you mentioned. Looking good! I see the grille is off. You get your new one?

Re: Pics of 69 truck lowered
Got the new grill and its at the powder coater. I am going to buy a new chrome front bumper and I think i am going to put a chrome bumper on the back. I am still going to incorporate the Roll Pan. I think it finishes the look of the back of the stepside. I am also going to replace the gas tank with a side filler and put a filler door on the side of the drivers side fender. Alot of things to do. I am going to replace both of the rocker panels this weekend and then its all body work from there. This thing is realy keeping me busy. I just hope I dont get too attached and want to keep it.

Looks good, I think it looks right, the distance between the wheel wells look the same in the picture.

Re: Pics of 69 truck lowered
Taylorde,
I put a 3 inch spring drop in the front. It still seems to be settling. I need to work on getting the back down. I am going to make some 2 1/2 inch lowering blocks for the back. I just need to figure out where to get some longer U-Bolts for the back when I do it. JRB |

Re: Pics of 69 truck lowered
Benz Springs in Portland will make them long as you want. Just take the stock one in to let them get the right bend and you are good to go.

Re: Pics of 69 truck lowered
Hey no problem. You don't want to go to Charlie's Drop Shop out in Troutdale. He is the candy store of the low riders. You spend a lot of money there.Ha Ha No really, he is a good guy to deal with. I have known him for sometime now and he knows these trucks from the in side out. If you want to do the rear springs instead of blocks he has them and if you want that thing to sit on the ground, he has a nice air bag system. He will have his booth at the Roadster Show. There is another member on here that just had his long bed ride shorten to a short wide buy Charlie and is really happy with Charlie's work.
