I have a 71 long bed parts truck that used to have a wood floor in it(gone due to rot). Before I toss the thing (bed) is anyone keeping and running wood beds in longbed trucks? I see it all the time on shortbeds but not on long? Are there any parts on a long bed w/wood floor that can be used on a shortbed?

The front panel and the back cross member that supports the wood are specific to wood floors and can be used on any short or long bed with a wood floor. And the cross pieces in between if not totally rusted away would also be of use to someone converting from steel to wood.

I've got one. Just finished putting a new floor in it. I might be strange, but I like the long beds.

I've got one too. About to put new wood in, but have to finish fabbing my inner wheelwells first!!!

I dig 'em, it's a real truck, can carry 8' lumber with the gate closed, and easily carry 10' and 12' with it open!

but some guys would take that long bed, and cut it into a shorty.

all what you're into I guess...
