Cab lights available new .........

Gentlemen , after all of the hard work by Longhorn man on the cab light issue I thought I might do a little leg work myself. Believe it or not the cab light assemblys for the 71-72 is still available through GM for about 21.00 each. They used them all the way to 1992 as far as I know. OR , I have found the entire assembly new from Signal-Stat / Truck-Lite for about 10.00.

I was inspired by Longhorn mans' efforts and did a little homework of my own. The replacement lense is available under Signal-Stat part number 9069 and matches the original lense PERFECTLY, right down to the lettering on the top of the lense ! I couldn't believe my eyes when I laid the two lenses side by side and compared them. The entire assembly is part number 1313-A and it includes the rubber gasket/light base , wiring pigtail , screws and lense. The bulb and plug assembly is mounted slightly different but you can't see it with the lense on anyway.

If your 71 and later dually needs new lights or lenses , these should be a cost saving alternative. I got mine at a local heavy truck shop but I'm sure most any parts store can get Signal-Stat products.

Hope this helps, Dean

If you are refering to the style pictured, yes. But i personally wouldn't call them tear drop... The catalog refers to them as fireman's hat... tear drop is the one that is long hand has a chrome 1/2 cover on it.

More like a european fireman`s hat .I like to think they resemble Half Dome in Yosemite.

Thank you, and point taken. Maybe I can afford hockey pucks after all.
