Re: posting pictures

www.irfanview.com

Down load the FREE program and it is very easy to size down from there. I make all file for this board at 642 bytes or whatever they are, LOL!

Re: posting pictures

Yes...With Irfanview clicked and up and running, click FILE. Then click OPEN. That will take you to "your documents" or where ever you keep your pics. Click the pic you want and that will move it over to the slot called file name. Now click OPEN. Your pic will come up at what ever size it currently is. Go to the top of the screen and click IMAGE. Scroll down and click RESIZE/RESAMPLE... Then you will see the current size of your pic with the width highlighted in blue. Type in 642 and click OK. You can then go back to IMAGE and scroll down and click SHARPEN. Makes the pic look nice! If you don't like the way the pic looks sharpened go to EDIT and click UNDO. Next go back to FILE and scroll down and click SAVE AS. You will see the title of the pic and where it will be saved on your harddrive. You can change the title if you want. On the Right you will see another box that has the Quality of the pic or file. Slide the bar on top to about 76. Now Click SAVE.

Your pic is now saved in the correct size and ready to upload to the 67-72 board. I assume you know how to do that??? If not, when posting a pic click MANAGE ATTATCHMENTS and go from there.

Hope this helps!

Alex

Re: posting pictures

You also double posted....and did not delete the extra post...LOL.

It is possible that your pic is taller than it is wide and then you have to resize the height to 642 rather than the width. The biggest dimension can only be 642, if you set that to 642 irfanview automatically does the other demension. Try sliding the Quality bar down some and re-save it. The 67-72 site will tell you how many kb's the pic is to big. Start making things smaller until it will upload.

I just followed the above instructions to a T and here is the size pic you get:

Re: posting pictures

I usually resize to 640x480 and if the file is too large make sure it is saved as a jpeg. You will be able to change from other formats while in save as mode.
