6" Lift/E-brake Help Needed

I guess I`m disconnecting my cables for now. But,what are some solutions for keeping a working E-brake on a truck lifted 6" or more?I have all brand new brakes and a locker in this HO.But,since I have to deal with this,if I go to discs is there an E-brake solution for that?

Re: 6" Lift/E-brake Help Needed

C`mon,I really need help.Since the brake hose is off for replacement with longer ss hose and I need to disconnect the e-brake cables for the time being,I`m goin`ahead and yankin` the HO52 out and settin`up the No-Spin.I wish I had money to order a TruTrac for up front.I love doin`alot of changes at the same time.I think I`ll go out and put the`90s sport wheel I have on since I need to re-center the wheel anyway.I surewould like a reply on the e-brake,though.

Re: 6" Lift/E-brake Help Needed

Build/install a new bracket.
Don't know of any longer retrofit cables that work. (wish there were)

Need any parts for the HO52 rear?

What's the project? Truck of blazer?

Pics are coming soon, right?

Re: 6" Lift/E-brake Help Needed

After looking it over,I think you`re right Kurt.Extending the cables won`t help. It`s after the bracket that matters.I guess relocating the same bracket lower should work.Time for fabbing.I was this close,1/16th",to pulling the rear out from under and seting-up the locker tonight.I decided to wait until I get it back together, then put it on a lift to set-up the rear(@friend`s shop)

Re: 6" Lift/E-brake Help Needed

Thanks,I`ll check them out. This won`t be the last time.I`ve never lifted over 4" before. My mobile welder buddy will be by Saturday to see about fabbing a drop bracket. You`d think this would be a part of a lift "system".It seems Hoaky to me to send all these guys off on their own with no e-brake or off to custom-fabsville.Nothing like stalling on a funky steep angle in a manual rig and try to push a clutch, brake, and throttle pedal with the only two feet God gave you.My`72 is funkier.Since I put the tilt in,It won`t crank with the brake pedal depressed.

Re: 6" Lift/E-brake Help Needed

Ok,I finally called Inline. He said he has no recommendation for a method to figure the extra length, nothing.Like he was just going to sit there like a stump until I told him what I wanted.I expected a well versed expert the might offer up some help, rather than someone that expects someone with no experience in this to take his best shot and hope the part he custom orders, waits, and pays extra for will work.I felt like it was the 100th stupid question of the day for him, pretty arrogant.I`m going to do some checking and hope it`s right.I`m thinking 2" without looking.I`ve done 4" lifts for years with no problems, with and w/o blocks.A spring lift would interfere more,I would think.Any feedback/suggestions/experience?/?/?

Re: 6" Lift/E-brake Help Needed

I welded new brackets at the bottom of the front spring mount..about 5 inches lower than stock location Just got some 1.25 x 1.25 angle and drilled a 5/8" hole for the line. It worked great..used stock lines.

Re: 6" Lift/E-brake Help Needed

That`s what I was going to do.But,I decided I like the idea of custom cables and not altering the truck. It`s got a rare combo of options and I may regret altering it in the future.
