Center/Drag link..where to find

Ok, ive looked on the internet until my eyes about popped out of my head and I still cannot find a new center link for my '70 2wd. Does anyone have one laying around or know where I can buy one? Thanks in advance!

Pretty much a non-wear item unless the truck or other related front end items were abused.

No abuse that I can see. Im a novice mechanic and someone I consider far more experienced than I scoffed when I told him I hadnt planned on replacing it. Thanks for the tip Uncle!

Not reproduced to my knowledge but very available in any recycle yard. I have one for a 70 coming off for a complete 72 front upgrade. Like Uncle says, they don't wear out--usually they get bent up from some jerk hooking up onto one to tow a truck onto a trailer or ?

Re: Center/Drag link..where to find

Be aware that not all 1/2 center links are the same. I ran into an issue this last weekend and discovered that there was a difference between one that came off of a 72 vs one that I had from a 70... The holes that the tie-rods mount in were different by almost .100". Not sure why but it is what I discovered.

That being said I have the one from the 72 all cleaned up a painted ready for install. I'll get you the measurements on the tie-rod holes and post a pic later.

Kris,

I think you need the one from a 71/72, unless your stuff is new than that. Have you checked at Butler's? If they don't have one, my buddy on 9 mile might.

Rob

EDIT: Any ET on the Caprice disection?!
