Bowtie67/VT Blazer...Long...Like a Book...Really
Bowtie67 is a great guy to deal with.I just recieved the 67/68 louvered hood(104)that I`ve been working with him on for about a year and a half.I originally saw it in the background of a picture he showed of something else.I asked if it was custom-punched or were they available somewhere. This lead to him telling me he`d sell it.We didn`t want to ship it,1)cost,but mostly 2)risk of damage. So,we corresponded back and forth with me trying to get up there and it drew out, kinda faded back to nothing. Then(after several months),he had a huge list of parts for sale.Mostly good hi-performance stuff and I saw the hood listed. This got me revved back up and I told him I`d take it,for sure.I sent full payment(he was fine with a deposit)and started back on the how to get it routine. It was winter and I was going to go snow boarding with my son and pick it up.Well,my son had a mishap boarding down here in the slurpee-spill/sheet-ice we have and resulted in a seriously broken leg (screws/pins) that kept him out of school for months. Then came spring. He lives in Loudon,NH and what better time to get the hood than while Motorcycle Week in early-June.I was going right up to the last minute, even into the last part of the week.It just couldn`t happen,I don`t even remember why but I was po`d.I`ve been trying to get free in my busy time of year, had other purchases to pick-up,and generally had myself strung-out a bit. There was the posibility of him making the trip to NC with a friend or I was going to make a run up.
That`s when VT Blazer came in.I had bought a truck from 6t727t2 in NJ and we were working on getting it down to me,about 170mi.Well,he and VT had a plan for a truck to be brought down to 6t`s,then take one back for bodywork.I offered VT pay to bring the truck on to me.I also asked if he could get this hood in NH,since the vehicle he was bringing down was somewhat close. He agreed to all this and it pulled my tail out of the fire. There are alot of great people here and as far as I`m concerned, there is no better place to buy what you`re looking for than right here on this board. This is a testimonial to that. Two fine guys, both up in New England,a bit seperated from a big part of the whole scene, yet connected to it through this site. We`re lucky to have them and that`s what this post is all about. Thanks guys,Tim
