MSD 8366 Dizzy Issues...

Anybody here replace there stock gm small cap hei (tbi) with a msd 8366 unit. And if so did you have all kinds of issues trying to get the timing set just right...experience a lack of power...etc.

I reversed the polarity of the pickup to the module wires tonight and as per msd it did retard the timing...but trying to set the timing and keep her running was a bag of wet mice...surging....popping...farting...etc. So i swapped in a spare module from my road box and got the same wonderful results...at which point i left the spare module in and swapped the wires back....set her at 6 degree's and called it good. Msd tech line wasn't much help so i think i'm going to swap back to the gm dizzy.

Anyone in calgary have a spare laying around they might be willing to part with....????

If anyone has any experience with this can of worms please post up as i would like to hear your story and what the final cure was...
