Re: 454 in a shortbed worth the effort or stay 350/I6
My "big" block has less displacement than the "small" block in (soon in) my other truck.
http://www.dixiesys.com/72_GMC_LWB/coldbigblock.mov http://www.dixiesys.com/72_GMC_LWB/coldbigblock2.mov It'll scoot though I'm using Hedman headers, I posted the summit part #'s ages ago and more than once. They had to be "modified" on the left side I believe, but nothing the muffler shop couldn't handle. |

Well, in my torq application, I use a set of stock exhaust manifolds, but a set of bbc, 4x4 Headers are easy to find, not sure why summit wasn't able to help?? BTW this is my 72 K5 4X4 w/4-speed and the only thing I'd change is that it is in the rear holes location, so the hei is cramped oh and it needs a good cleaning!! For a mere 10,000.00 you could have a 454 small block
Actually, this place http://www.ohiocrank.com/enginekits.html has one for 6,995! Last edited by Jim_PA; 08-24-2006 at 04:49 PM. |
