She ain't pretty, but she is legal

Thanks to info from searching the board, especially TX Firefighter, I got my 68 C10 registered last week.

She is wearing one of the ugliest plates ever made, The Texas Antique Vehicle plate, but she is legally on the road, now. Best deal in license plates, $32 and she is licensed until March of 08. With no annual state inspections!

Since I got the 307 running again a year ago, I have run up and down the street once a week or so. It'll be nice to get to see some other parts of town now.

Congratulations. Around here a antique tag never expires. Once you have one you are set.

Thats cool! I am not sure if they have those here in OK. They do however let you reinstate the tag of the model year. I have a '71 oklahoma plate on mine you just have to pay $25 a year like a personalized plate and they give you a sticker for the windshield.

I thought I was going to see a picture of a girl in here. Just a truck though I see.

Re: She ain't pretty, but she is legal

Thanks guys for the well wishes, but no girls here, just a rusty old truck.

Longhorn Man, You got that right! Passed a cop on my way to lunch. Didn't even think twice about it.

Krue, we only have to register every 5 years with antique plates.

Project1971, We can use 68 plates, too, but i could not use the set I have because they are Farm Truck plates. I want to find a set of 68 truck plates someday. But the state only isssues a rear tag for antiques, so I have the 68 farm plate on the front still.

Re: She ain't pretty, but she is legal

I've been riding around for the past three days with my show tag on top of my antique plate. I keep forgetting to pull it off. I wonder if the officer would have a sense of humor.

Looks like you are off to a good start!

Re: She ain't pretty, but she is legal

yeah we don't have to have front plates here, thank goodness! I did find an original plate from AZ. '68 stamping with 71 decal. which is where my father bought the truck, on ebay to put on the front when it is done.
