Fuel filter by the carb or by the pump ???

Have to run a new fuel line between the pump to feed the edelbrock carb. It would be easier to put the filter by the carb, but the big metal filter might pick up a lot of heat from the intake. I was thinking of mounting it up and down near the pump. Anyone have some pics or suggestions ??? I don't want to have any more rubber line than needed or extra leak spots either - Thanks.

Re: Fuel filter by the carb or by the pump ???

i run a small metal filter on the line from the pump to the carb and mine goes infront of the engine and the hoses and over the upper heater hose but i put another peice of bigger hose around the fuel line so it wont get to hot sitting on the heater hose and works fine for me plus i figured if the fan blows on it it might keep it cooler than sitting off to the side or something anyway i hope that helps any
