70 K-20 with 4800 original miles

My buddy Bob just picked this up in Lafayette, IN this weekend. That is an average of 133 miles a year. They only used it for brush fires , which only happened a couple times a year

Still has the original tires on it! Lucky dog!

Its a 350, 4 spd

Anybody seen any lower mileage 67-72's than this ?

Re: 70 K-20 with 4800 original miles

I had a 71 Cheyenne with 6,000 miles, but 4,800 is the lowest I've seen!

Very nice!

Re: 70 K-20 with 4800 original miles

More Pics when I get time to go see it in person this weekend.

Price was around 6K, It was advertised in the Illinois auto& RV, A free

magazine you get all over in the midwest, I'm surprised there were only 2

serious bidders at the auction!

I'll try to get some pic also of his 70 Suburban ambulance with around 20K miles.

It still surprises me that there are still so many vintage vehicles out there with such low miles.

Re: 70 K-20 with 4800 original miles

I saw that in the auto-rv the other day, I would have gone to bid on that, but I already have a 70 K20.........and 6k additional should get it to way past where I want it.....plus the 5 vehicles currently sitting in my yard attract enough attention!
Nice score though!!!! oh yeah, more pics!

Re: 70 K-20 with 4800 original miles

I went and looked at it as well. It was pretty nice but I've never been a huge fan of the 1970 front end set up/hubs/etc. I can't remember now if it was a 205 transfer case or not. Should be a good add to his collection.

My 71 K20 was a low mile truck as well.

Re: 70 K-20 with 4800 original miles

Thats a Super nice truck. I knew of a 1970 1 ton cab and chassis dually a friend of mine had, it belonged to a Texas fire dept. and only had 13,000 on it. I kick myself now for not buying it, I still see it around but now belongs to a roofing company and gets used hard.

More Pics

Got to look at in person today, nice truck. Interior is nearly perfect, a few dings a dents on the body. The frame still has most of the black paint on it and absolutley NO RUST!

Also threw in a pic of his 70 ambulance, a 20K mile unit sitting on a 71 4wd
frame.

Did they actually take one tow hook from the front and mount it on the back bumper/frame???? Looks like a sweet rig, and I wouldn't mind the burb either....

Re: 70 K-20 with 4800 original miles

Yeah, thats the factory tow hook on the back. anybody ever seen hubs like
these?
Also added a shot of the interior. Notice the custom built bracket to prevent it from being dropped into 4-LO. The chief said that was added to prevent somebody from over revving the engine.

I believe I'd add a clutch pedal pad to that truck and call it done as sort of a tribute truck. I'd love to have that thing im my garage!
