Removing Ignition Cylinder

I need to change the ignition switch from a 72 3/4 and can't get the ignition cylinder out. I have it all apart. What's the procedure to do this?

Re: Removing Ignition Cylinder

need to insert the key and insert a paper clip into the hole located in the cylinder and twist to the left....without the key it is "fun" at best....good luck

Re: Removing Ignition Cylinder

I just did this a couple of weeks ago after about 3 years of trying...

put the key in ignition and turn it to the left 'Accessories' position THEN put the paperclip or tiny allen wrench in the little hole all the while putting 'pull' pressure on the key and it should pull right out
