Question 16.5" to 15" wheels

I got a good deal on some 39.5 boggers but they're 15" so I ordered some 15" eight lug wheels.A couple of friends of mine say I will have to grind on the calipers.Does anyone know if this is true?

You may want to call an inspection station...that is illegal in many states. THe 15 inch tires are not rated for the same load as 16 LT nor 16.5 tires.

Milenko-
I put 15" Craigars on my 67 8 lug with no problem. I do have four drums though, so I don't know about the calipers. Good luck.

i just got through doin this over the weekend, i have a 86 3/4 ton 4x4 in need of some new calipers. i bought the truck with 15 on it. what a pin in the a$$. you have to grind ALOT off the calipers and a little off the backing plate. if i knew it was gonna be so much of a pin, i would have thrown the wheels away. grind a little, paint the caliper black, remount the wheel and see where its rubbing, i had to do this a THOUSAND times. not to mention, the calipers where brand new....oh well, it works....
