ok so i'm 16, got some tickets and need a job to pay them off. so i go out looking for jobs, and i'm up to my ears in applications when i realized it's way easier with my truck.

i went to quiznos and this guy sitting in there was like wow, what year is that? 72 i said. he said i used to have a 72 and we talked for 10 minutes about his and mine, i showed him my truck, and he said he had a 454, positrac... and he sold it for 10,000. so it must of been nice. then he tried to trade me his new f150 with some custom rims and flowmasters, and i said no thanks, and it's a ford... then he tried to buy mine for 10,000.

i told him it's not about selling it for money, i'd never sell it. i rebuilt it over the last year and a half and it's my first rebuild. he was like oh i see, and then i blurted out i do need money though. he said i can get you a job here (at quiznos) and i said how...

and he said he owns that quiznos!

YES SIR, thank you. no application needed, just a phone #!

I don't know about your truck, but I'm guessing $10 large would buy at least a replacement, better yet, I see your's, I have one just like it give me his number and I sell him mine for $10k. BTW congrats on the Q.

nice looking truck man, I don't blame you for not selling the truck, there is no way that anyone is buying my truck for any price once its done!

I was offered a date from a total hottie one time from my old truck.

Right after i got the old GMC I used to drive, i was at a gas station headin in to get a pack of smokes. This total hottie short, thin, red head came out and said to me;
"Sweet 69 ya got there"
I just froze in my tracks and looked at her. She continued to say that she had been buggin the dope smokin old man trying to buy it off of him for 3 years, and that he would never consider it. When she said she wanted to buy it, and restore it, install a stepside bed... etc etc (she pretty much layed out the exact same plans i had come up with) I looked at her and said;
Your taste is perfect... marry me.
I was floored when she said;
Take me on a date forst, pick me up at 8.

It was sooooooooo hard turning that offer down, and telling her I was married. The Ex thought it was the funniest thing she had heard in years.

Well, I've been in Matt's shoes. When I was 17, had just "finished" my truck, and me and my buddy were cruising the strip in Pigeon Forge (where they have Rod Runs and a lot of the big shows in the south here). I was literally just a few weeks into my truck after its build, and on top of that, it was my first vehicle. So it had a lot of pride and meaning to it.

We were sitting at a stop light, and a well dressed man on the sidewalk shouted over to me "I'll give you $20,000 right now for it - cash."

Without thinking for long I said no. There was no way I wanted to sell that truck, and today I would turn away the same offer. People ask me all the time how much I would take - I just tell them more than it's worth.

Congrats on the job. Everytime I go into the grocery store (locally owned small place) where I had my first job, the owner ask me to leave him a burnout in my truck...that's another story for another time.

I got a lot of "you wanna sell that truck" when mine was primered. I think I had one of the only rust free 67's in southwest NY. Trucks been off the road for almost 2 years now, hoping to have it back on in october with new paint. I wonder what kinda offer's I'll get now

I get asked all the time if I wanna sell mine, so I just throw a stupid high price out there, like 25k or so. If the person wants to pay that much for it, it's theirs.

I've ran out of money about 10 times now. (Well, I mean on the big stuff)...
Now, 6 years later, I am putting in aftermarket A/C after yanking the factory A/C I had put on it out.

you better watch that though, people like me see these trucks when they are ugly and notice potential, I know I can't afford a fully restored one but if yours is still in rough shape I am going to ask you what you want for it!
