Removing old sound deadner
I started removing the original sound deadner that was in the truck. I used a big screwdriver and a paint scraper but I am left with some remnants of the sound deadner on the floor. I dont want to take the paint off just whats left of the deadner. Anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?

You might play with some solvents like brake parts cleaner, paint and laquar thinner,but the easiest way is to wire wheel it, prime the rusty spots and repaint.

If it is the tar like stuff that is left, kerosene or diesel fuel works best, with mineral spirits being second best. Brake cleaner might be ok for final cleanup, but laquer thinner and carb cleaner likely will remove paint.
