Anyone flip their front bumper?

I have been toying with the idea of flipping the front bumper upside down to give it a more raked back look. Anyone done it or have pics? Any other bumpers being used (outside of a 2x4 or 4' pipe )? Something like a BelAir or other car/truck.

Thanks!

hah... now that you mention it, I think mine was like that when I got it. I didnt notice it though. Check my blog and tell me if it was installed upside down by the previous owner. If it was, then I will do the same when i pick up my new one.

Re: Anyone flip their front bumper?

Per factory they were installed so the lower part sticks out further than the upper. So flipping it would make it more tilted forward, not raked back. The yellow one is not upside-down, just tilted a little. I went for the more raked look by increasing the height on my front bumper effectively lowering the bottom edge. I also relocated the frame horns down and back so the upper rear edge of the bumper sits much closer to the header panel. It's all in my photobucket link if you are interested in seeing pics.

Re: Anyone flip their front bumper?

I've looked at it, but the frame horns would ahve to be flipped because they are angled with the bumper, so they would need to be flipped so that the bumper doesn't end up tilted

I think you are right. The 4 center mounting holes will not allow a bumper flip without other modifications.

Re: Anyone flip their front bumper?

I went out and looked at my front bumper this morning. It hasn't been flipped. It has been raised up about two inches. The pan over the bumper braces have been cut a little over an inch allowing extra height. I guess that's what gives it the tilted look.
