disc brakes and power steering on a 64
I read the sticky (along with about a million other documents related to brakes), thanks.
I am buying a '64 that is a daily driver but I will be working on as well. It runs well but has a few minor details to fix and needs to be painted and have some body work done. It has drums all around....the big question is: just how hard is it for a neophyte to change them to discs? I have all seem some aftermarket kits that supposedly enhance the drums to improve braking. Anyone ever used those? and what about power steering? once again...just how much pain am i setting myself up for?.... |

Re: disc brakes and power steering on a 64
i swapped everything out from a newer c10 spindles all of the steering and it wasnt that hard if you have a good cheap junk yard go and get everything off of one truck i swapped everything from a 78 the power steering complete with all of the tie rods drag link ect took it as one assembly same with the spindles and brakes master cylinder and dont forget the proportioning valve the upgrades make it a real daily driver!!you will know what i mean after you do it
