67 SWB Fleetside Bed?

Well its gettin time in my 67 project to get serious about finding a bed. Ive looked high and low but finding a fleetside short bed on the east coast in any kind of salvagable condition just isnt happening. So now Im looking at having to build a brand new bed and was wondering if you all had to who would you use to get the parts from and why. Ive delt with most of the 67-72 resto companies and have liked them all but considering the cost involved with an all new bed I would like to know if there is a quality difference or do they all sell the same sheetmetal.

The Goodmark parts I have seen are very nice. As far as I know, Goodmark makes their own stuff, so it's direct if you order from them.

The re-pop short fleet bedsides Tri-Plus GoodMark fit pretty darn well. I have a complete new Tri-plus wood floor bed here in my office awaiting my
68' build. Parts came from GMC Pauls.

NOPE!!!!

Tri-Plus makes Goodmarks sheet metal. It is my understanding, that only the best Tri-Plus stuff gets the GoodMark approval.

Why don't you get a trailer and come over to Carlisle PA for the Fall swap meet? It's at the end of the month and one of the largest around. Just a thought....

Learn something new every day. My buddy is a Goodmark dealer and everything I have seen from them is top notch, so I figured they made it. Oh well, still is nice stuff, and nicer when you can get it at cost.

Re: 67 SWB Fleetside Bed?

A lot of people don't know that you can let Ebay do the work for you. Simply search for what you want but be vague i.e "chevy bed", then find the link "Add to Favorite searches". Now ebay will email whenever something new that matches your search comes up. Saves time and keeps you from missing that one great deal! I have found a lot of items and you get an early chance for those "buy it now" that poeple underestimate on. Good luck

Re: 67 SWB Fleetside Bed?

I traveled to Dallas Texas last year to get a 67 swb fleet. It cost 400 bucks and only needed a patch where they cut out for a fuel cell. Keep checking they are out there.

What did you pay for the bed you drove all that distance for (if you don't mind me asking)? If you wish to keep the number to yourself, I will understand.

I also click on the "distance" tab after I search, and it lists the items by distance, starting with the items closest to me first. I can scroll down through the items until the distance is more than I want to travel.

Put a Want ad on craigslist, it's free, it can't hurt.

Re: 67 SWB Fleetside Bed?

I found 2 short fleet beds today, not 67 though. Bad thing is, you'd have to buy both beds to make one nice one... He wanted like $750 for both and I'm a bad situation right now to buy them

I bought an entire running/driving truck for the bedsides of my K10! Of course this was back before they were reproducing bedsides.

Re: 67 SWB Fleetside Bed?

I was high bidder on a 67 shortbed, but didn't make reserve. PM how much you would pay for a bed and I will see what the reserve was and if I can get it and sell you the bed - if that is something you are interested in.
