fuel pump QQ

I finally finished putting the new 454 in my truck and theres only one minor problem left, (while that i have a question for) the fuel pump on the 454 i put in has 3 ports on it, one inlet, one outlet, and one return line port back to the gas tank?? The motor orginally came from a 1978 suburban. I hooked the inlet and outlet up and pluged the (what i think is the return line) but dont know if this is right or if this will be ok.. Any input would be great.. maybe i need a fuel pump without the "return line port".. im not sure if its necessary.

Re: fuel pump QQ

Plugging it will work for now, I've done it a few times, it always ends up making the pump body leak.
Just get another pump next time you're at the parts store.
