Re: blinker/lights issue
Hi
It sounds like there is a grounding problem take some jumper cables and hook on the ground on the battery and hook to the grill or headlight housing and see if it helps when you turn your headlights on good luck!! |

Re: blinker/lights issue
If your wiring is factory the park lights are wired to shut off when you turn the headlights on, there is a quick fix for it if you want them to stay on, jumper the park light wire to the taillight wire, purple to brown right at the switch.... I THINK !! Don't quote me on it, get a wiring diagram and find out for sure, or go to Jolly's GMC site he has the step by step how to do it.
As for the signal not working when the park lights are on...i had a bunch of issues that traced back to a dirty signal switch in the column, check your wiring at the column connector... I had to disassemble my column and just clean the switch contacts and everything worked great...saved me a good chunk of cash too. There are two wires running to each park light, one for park lights and one for signal...the housing itself is the ground for the bulb. The park circuit is quite simple and short so just start at the connector for the signal switch, then the firewall connector and finally probe the wires right at the light, shouldn't take long to find your problem... good luck.
