Thanks guys. Our longest drive yet!

The boy and I took our old beater out this evening on a run to the local YMCA to go swimming. The weather is nice so I figured we could walk back home if we broke down.

10 mile round trip with no problems! Well there was one dude that wanted to tailgate me on our way up there, but no truck problems...

When I started trying to get my gramp's truck running again a year and a half ago, I knew nothing under the hood except oil changes. A few more trips like this and I may start trusting my own mechanical abilities a little bit.

Thanks to a stack of repair manuals and especially all of you guys who have given me great advice and good deals on the board. My 4 1/2 year old son and I had a blast!

Re: Thanks guys. Our longest drive yet!

I was the same way when I first got my truck. Short trips to start off to make sure it would break....found out it wouldn't BRAKE

Glad to hear you got it moving, keep up the good work!

Mike

Good advice. I had the toolbox with me AND the floor jack in the bed, just in case!

Congrats. And yes, never leave home without your box, new or old truck.
