Door lock question
I just fixed my door latch by using a donor 72 door. My old latch was frozen so i don't know if this is normal. If I lock the door by pushing the pin down, and then shut the door, the pin pops up! I can then push the pin down by hand. Is this normal ir is something misaligned? Everything else works great now. thanks

My '67 does the same thing but I don't know if all in our era do or not.

I don't know if it's normal or not, but that's how both doors are on my '72 C10. I need to use the key to lock them from the outside.

Its built like that to keep you from locking your keys in the vehicle, If you get a chance read the owners manual and you should run across it.

Yea my 70 GMC is the same way. It's just a saftey so you don't lock your keys inside. Kinda silly really It is so easy to break into my truck I'm not really sure why I lock it.

I seldome lock my doors, I've found if you lock them, then they'll just bust out the glass, or even try to PRY the doors open. (they popped BOTH the locks out on our old @ss-10 blazer, then broke a window when they still couldn't get in)...then proceded to rip up the dash for a $50 POS radio.)
So they still get your stuff, and now you have a soaking wet seat becouse it started raining. I've found my blinkie dummy LED light in the dash to deter more thieft than any lock ever could. |

hmm, thanks.. I know that an alarm is a big waste of time. How many times have you heard them going off!
