finally a little progress... axles near new frame
Hi guys. Here are some pictures of my truck, now getting starting putting everything on my "new" frame. This is not going to be a show truck, so don't be alarmed... just want a decent, dependable driver. Maybe try and do a nice paint job, red with the maroon cloth interior, newer split bench, and the Silverado trim (chrome pieces along the sides, etc.). And, low buck (if at all possible). Not much to look at yet, but for me it's a lot of progress for the weekend. Take care!

Nice progress, lol I think something may be wrong with your old frame, seeing as that it's in 2 pieces.
Rust cause you to need a frame swap? or was the old one broke? or bent.

Re: finally a little progress... axles near new frame
Hi Chris, thanks for the message. The old frame was rotted behind the rear spring hangers (in front of the axle). I cut the old one up in three pieces to make it easier to move and get rid of, once I get the motor mounts, etc. off it. I am thinking of just running one gas tank, instead of the two it had. I don't see how I could use two tanks, and it's just more expense, and more to go wrong. Should be getting the front bolted up this weekend, starting on the cab. Take care!
Jeff

Re: finally a little progress... axles near new frame
hi again. I just used some Rustoleum. I was going to use POR15, but between the cost and the dangers, I figured that would be fine. Plus the frame is all pitted anyway. Not a show truck, but it will still be a decent driver. Post some pics of your truck!!

Nice work Jeff, I know what you mean on the rust. I wished I could have saved my old 76, but no where to work on it. it's frame was decent, just pitted and some cros braces in the rear rusted, but the cab and body was trashed LOL.
