Trans swap Qs
What all would be involved with swapping a NV4500 5-speed O/D transmission inplace of a 700r4 in a 2wd 85 chevy?Has anyone done this swap(pictuers are awesome)? I know I would need a high hump trans tunnel, clutch master cylinder/slave cylinder and appropriate lines, clutch pedal is that all or am I forgetting something? Is the speedometer driven by cable or electronic? What would the approximate improvement be in gas milage or would that depend on engine?
Thanks |

Some info here. http://www.high-impact.net/transmiss...Configurations
I have never heard of that swap. You could probably raise your hump by using a bolt-in hump out of a 4WD truck. Slonaker |

Re: Trans swap Qs
Yup 4wd hump would work. Would I have to move trans crossmember and would driveshaft length be different?
Thanks |
