Frames ?

I currently have a 1967 C10 LWB. I also have a 1966 C10 SWB. The 1966 is in very bad shape. The 1967 is what I want to restore, my question is. Is it possible to use the 1966 C10 frame, and bolt on the 1967 Cab. I have a 1967 C10 SWB bed. I just did not want to cut the frame on the LWB. I searched the threads and did not see any one doing this type of swap. Any info would be great. Thanks for all of the advice.

Re: Frames ?

i am unsure about that but i know it could work, i have seen a 65 lwb body on a 77 frame before so i don't see why you couldn't make it work might have to do a little custom fabricating but i'd think the length would be pretty dang close doesn't sound like too hard of a job to me

Re: Frames ?

get out the measuring tape. I have done a few frame swaps and the only real trick I have use is to use the body mount brackets from the orginal frame on the new frame. I think, and I might be wrong, that pretty much 63-72 frames are the same in how the cab and bed are mounted. All the suspension parts swap, except for no P/S steering dimple on the 63-67 frames, from coil spring to coil spring, 4x4 and leaf springs

Re: Frames ?

Id probably check wher the cab and core support mounts are. I think that would probably be the only difference except as pointed ou the power steering. I could be wrong. Anyone else have some info for him. Hope this helps.

Re: Frames ?

You can use the frame, but the front of the frame where the bumper bolts to is different. 1969C/10 has a 69 truck with an earlier frame. Here is his post as he did not know what year his frame was, and was asking for help in identifying the frame. It appears his is ealier then 1967..
