c20 Drop??
Hey,
Im just in the middle of a complete resto on a 71 c20. I got a smokin deal on 2 of them, soo i had the frame chopped in one of them to make it a short box. I have looked everywhere for lowering kits for this thing. Does anyone know where to get one, or how to make a custom one?? |

Re: c20 Drop??
I assume it's a leaf spring rear? (Don't remember if all 3/4Ts were)
I lowered the rear of mine 1.5" using aftermarket shakles. If you're looking for a BIG drop, you just flip the leaf springs to the other side of the axle. That results in about 5" drop if I remember correctly. For anythingin between, you're in for some creative custom work.

Re: c20 Drop??
Alot of the 3/4 tons (well when I say alot I just mean some, I like to exagerate a little) were coil spring still, I don't really know if anyone offers lowering coils for the 3/4 ton trucks or not. I would check with a board vendor on that they can tell you a whole lot more than I can.

Re: c20 Drop??
Is it all coil ? If it is all coil the stock and drop springs from a 1/2 ton are a direct swap and ride better too. All coil drop is fairly cheap, depends how low you want to go. You can get 2 inch front and 4 inch rear 1/2 ton coils, the will get that C20 down some.

Re: c20 drop?
drop shackle are the same.
cut the front coils and pull a leaf layer from the back, i have never pulled a 1/2t and 3/4 ton spindle stuff apart to compare for swaping. |

Re: c20 drop?
Whoa,Dude...Am I,like,having like a flashback?Or,is this,like,some kinda deja vu trip?Yikes Scooby!This is getting pretty wierd...SCOOBY????WAIT FOR MEEEeeeee!!!
Nah seriously,Are you leaving it 3/4t 8-lug?There are no drop spindles made, you can "flip" the axle over the leafs(if you have those),or there are lowering shackles for less drop.If it`s coil, the 1/2t drop springs will fit right in the rear. The same for the front,up to 3".You can bolt a 1/2t rear and knuckles right in a 3/4t,very easy.See ya,I`m going to answer this in your other thread on down the page
