5-7 drop
Hi,
I have a set of springs for a 3 in front drop and 5 in rear for my 67 swb. I want to install a 2in lowering block for the rear and 2.25 drop spindles for the front with the springs. Has any one tried this combination? Is this two low? What will happen if i dont c notch the frame? If any one has tried this can you show me some pictures? Thanks |

You will need to notch the frame. If you don't, you will be hitting the frame with the axle (that's bad).
CPP had the bolt in notch for $100, but the sale ended today. You might call and get them to extend it. Even at full price, it's well worth the $150 to have a fully functional suspension system. |

I was told anything over 5" and you will want to notch the frame. It's not that hard to do if you have the right tools and be careful.
If you can weld, you can use a section of pipe from a scrap yard. |

I notcned the frame with my 6'' rear drop, I tested the springs just to make shur and the bump stops were holding the truck up in the back. I wouldent feel safe with the bolt in notches though.
I have been wondering the same thing about the 3'' springs and 2.5'' spindles in the front right now i have 2'' springs with my 2.5'' spindles and want to to a little lower so it has a bit of rake. |

Well i have the 3-5 springs, and the 2" blocks just came in for the rear. It looks like brothers has a set of 2.25 in drop spindles with disc brake conversion on sale. I think I am going to place an order, and go for a 5-7 drop. The only thing that is bothering me, is cutting the frame for the c notch. I am going to install everything and see how much room i have, before I actually cut.

With a 7" drop out back you're gonna have to put in a notch. Your frame rails will basically be on the axle at that low. I installed CPP's bolt-in notch on my truck in a half day. You don't need to pull the bed. It's pretty straightforward. If done right, the bolt-in is as strong if not stronger than stock.
