I think you need to get a trapezoid to Holley 2bbl. adapter made. The bolt patterns are different between 305 and 351+ V6's for the carbs. 351 is a trapezoid, 305 a normal rectangle.

You could go the other route and make your intake in to a 4bbl. one. You can do that with a 351 and up V6 intake. Theres pics of one online somewhere, I think I sent you the link once, Fatman.

Either way a carb upgrade is good for the V6. Makes them much more responsive (even though they are kinda slugs) and powerful.

WyoRoadDog, Thanks for the link, I've been to that site many times before, I don't know how I could forget to check it

Jake, yes you sent me that link before but I couldn't find it, I found it just now, I tried the upgrade back in '03, bought the stromberg to holley adapter and the carb, put it on and got it running but the truck smoked like a freight train so I took it off and put the old carb back on and stashed the holley away, now I have to to upgrade, I may be going with a 351 intake now.

Thanks.

Was it fuel smoke (too rich or lean) or engine smoke, like burning oil? Either way, have fun with it.

It was fuel smoke, (running too rich) I've read the 6066gmc page and I noticed it has been updated, that shiney intake wasn't there before and some more facts have beed added.

Mine smoked pretty bad when I first put the carb on. I fooled with the float and adjusted the idle fuel mixture settings. Runs better now but still puffs out black clouds when you rev it. And now it's starting to puff blue smoke out when you first start it up.

Oh ok I see now, I did mess with it for a lil' while but I have the attention spam of a goldfish to fool with it longer than 5 min

I'll get to to do it again sometime this weekend, post some pics of your setup, Thanks for the feedback.
