Aluminum intake on a 4.3?
I just bought an 89 S15 Jimmy 4x4, with the 4.3 V6 EFI in it. It has the following mods done to it:
-K&N Open Element Air Cleaner -Helix Power Tower Throttle Body Spacer -Long Tube Headers -Dual Exhaust with Flowmasters -Performance Chip -Posi-Trac Rear I have a friend with a V6 aluminum intake for sale (Non vortec, which is what my motor is). It will fit, but I have a few questions about things that are different than stock with new vs. old. -There is no provision for an EGR, which the stock EFI intake has. Can it just be removed without consequence, and what is involved with that? (there is no smog testing here) -The heater house fitting would be in the front of the intake now instead of the back (would this affect the heater operation at all, as this is a winter vehicle?) I think thats about all the problems I can see. It is a marine intake, if that makes a difference. It has all the coolant ports sleeved with brass, and I believe it is made by Holley. Is this a worthwhile mod, and will it work well with everything else I've done, and the mild chip it has now? Thanks!

Re: Aluminum intake on a 4.3?
Mods, feel free to delete this post. I never realized this was a section for fullsize blazers and Jimmys, so I reposted this in the engine section instead. Thanks!
