Rented a power washer this weekend. Worth the money, but there is still some hand work that needs to be done. Looks like I might need to get the flywheel resurfaced while it is off. It is a little discolored.

Big blocks are so cool!!

I would definately get that flywheel surfaced......it is cheap insurance for good clutch engagement. I bet you can't wait for that 454 to be in there instead of the 307!!

Hey Mark, that looks much better. I assume all that was coming from valve cover area, how does everything else look? What's the plan concerning the switch? Cya, LB.

looks good,

some of the best money I've spent was for a pressure washer,
Now once i bring it out to clean something, everything I can think of gets cleaned.

If you are putting in a new clutch, don't even think about doing it without having the flywheel resurfaced, no matter what it "looks" like.

How about the flip side. It's okay to use the old clutch, if it is in good shape with alot of life left, with a resurfaced flywheel, right?

I know it adds more to the budget, Mark, but the labor to replace the clutch pales in comparison to the price of a new clutch pressure plate. So even if your wallet (spouse!) cringes at the thought, surface the flywheel and get a rebuilt pressure plate and disc.
