overdrive trans 197?--new process
hi
does anyone know when and what these trans where used in---i think that they where the same as chrylser used in the 70's in their dusters with a 6 or small v8 also what were there gear ratios thank you bob |

GM did not put overdrive trannys in truck until '82 in limited quantities. The OD 700R4 became a popular option in '83. I love my rebuilt 700r4.
1 gear 3.06:1 2 1.63:1 3 1:1 4 0.70:1 A 700R4 can easily put in older trucks too. '91 700R4 were the best stock built trannys. Any 88+ would make a good replacement tranny. Earlier models had problems. Especially the 82-84 models. |

the trans is a new process 4 speed with a clutch not a gm automatic trans
