Quick question, need a quick answer
What's the torque specs on the 4 nuts that hold down the carb. to intake? The carb is an Edelbrock 600cfm electric choke and the intake is an Edelbrock as well.

I've never in my life torqued down a carb....never been necessary, I would think that the only time it is really critical is if your plumbing in a turbo. I normally just short handle the ratchet or whatever I'm using, what I mean is, I place my palm over the socket end of the ratchet and tighten with only the strength of my palm.

That's what I meant, about how much do you tighten the nuts/bolts, sorry for the confusion. Thanks for the info.

spin the nut down to finger tight, then 1/4 turn more.
That's how i've always done it. If you have a thick gasket, like what is found under some quadra jets, then maybe a 1/2 turn. You can always snug it more, but once you go to far, you're screwed. |
