I don't think you need to do much but make sure the brakes are good & it's running right. I've got a Hidden Hitch on mine Class III I believe. Had the hitch on my '72 before it was wrecked.
Sure you can put 3/4T springs on it. If it's the 1/2T swingarm style you can by a kit to convert them to be like the factory 3/4T's and weld the plates on.
These trucks were built to work, and it'll do great pulling most things.

Re: 69 c10 Pulling

After owning 2 kansas trucks, i would first look at the trailing arms REAL close and see if they are worth driving on. I would recomend new bushings in the arms if they are at all questionable, then a class III hitch. I would highly advise NOT going with a bumper hitch. It wouldn't be legal with 99% of the ones out there, and IMO, those things should be left for the ski-do and lawn mower tractor crowds. Make sure your brakes are in good working order, and a trailer hauling that much weight, really should have it's own brakes too.

Where do you find a 67-72 Hitch? Any pics of a built hitch? Are 3/4 Springs worth the change?
