100 amp alternator question
I just did the 100 amp alternator with internal regulator conversion. My question is, can I remove the plug that went into the old external regulator?
I followed Toodtheodd's directions in the FAQ's here's the part I'm wondering about. |

Re: 100 amp alternator question
I think you have to leave the plug on it ,because one of the wires gives you more resistance to ammeter or idiot light to make alternator charge right.

Re: 100 amp alternator question
The answer is yes you can eliminate the plug and the external regulator.
This website will tell you all about it. http://www.chevelles.com/techref/tecref14.html The brown wire is the charge wire from the idiot light and the blue wire just extends it from the external regulator to the alternator. You can eliminate the blue wire and just run the brown wire to the alternator. The white wire isn't used and the red wire is the power wire to the alternator. It should go to the positive battery terminal.
