side mirrors?
i am getting ready to start putting my new doors togather. i need some ideas on mirrors. the 68 truck will have minimum chrome on it. would like a decent mirror that is nit to big. no camper or big truck mirrors. i am putting power windows and locks in so power mirrors would be nice. anyone have pics or places to buy? i am not even sure what the stock mirrirs look like. what do you guys think looks good? sport mirrors? thanks pkj

Re: side mirrors?
Here are the style that I went with for my 68 gmc. They are correct for the year and there is a rectangular mirror head available if you so desire. I tried the sport mirrors and found them to be inadequate. These do not stick out much more than the sport mirrors and matched up with the holes I had in the doors... I purchased mine from Gmc Pauls.
good luck!

Re: side mirrors?
I have those on my truck, but with the rectangular mirrors. The only thing I don't like about these, is that they shake a little when your driving down the road. Their not stable. If you do get them, make sure you get the backing plates that go inside the door. They are sold separate. I've been told that a early 90's Ford F150 power mirrors work. I think there's a FAQ on here somewhere....

Re: side mirrors?
I like the 69' Camaro style mirrors. The repros from the Truck and carshop are inexpensive and look good.

They are also available in a finish so that you could paint them to match your truck. You'll also need the backing plates as well. My doors already had the three mounting holes from the factory... As for the vision they work well maybe a bit better with the rectangular heads. No complaints here. good luck.

Re: side mirrors?
I always liked the ones like 68Jimmy has, we had a '68 C-10 we parted that had them on........Painted a cream, on a dark green truck. I liked the look, and usually I have to have HUGE ugly mirrors to be happy
