Big Brake Kit?

Hi guys Iam sure glad I found this forum! I'm the new guy. I restored a 1978 chevy scottsdale in high school,(I'll post pic tomorrow) and now I'm going to re-restore the truck with radical mods. My question today is do any of you guys know if any company that makes a big brake kit for our year trucks? I'm currently working with precision brake company but they are lagging big time. It has been like 6 month with no product delivered yet. I'm looking for 14" rotor minimum (Cross drilled & slotted) and six piston rotor. Any help would be appriciated. Thanx

Re: Big Brake Kit?

i know there is a guy around here with a wilwood set up (i do not know the mods that it took to make them work). www.p-s-t.com has a kit for our trucks with a 13 inch rotor if that will work

Re: Big Brake Kit?

Baer brakes or wilwood would be the best I would think. My buddy just bought a set of Baers for his cougar and he liked their service. I think he said it took about 4-6 weeks to get them.

By the way, welcome and where in cali are you from?

Re: Big Brake Kit?

You will have to send in your calipers to get them modified, but you can get Wilwood, Baer to work. SSBC makes a big brake kit as well, and they offer 2" spindles.

Here's a link to a couple of threads that discuss big brakes-

The first set pictured are on 7T7's truck. They are 13.25"
The second set is on Injected68LS1 and they are both 13.25" but have C5 front calipers and C4 rears.

Re: Big Brake Kit?

Reckon what it would cost to have my dropped spindles sent to baer and have them machined and buy their hub and rotor. I wonder if you did this could you use a stock c5 caliper and mounting basket? If you could there would be some money saved here.
