And do I need it...how do I use it. What is it connected to?
Thanks, Tim

Re: Wha is this?
It is an electronic brake controller for controlling electric brakes on a trailer.
Do you pull a trailer? If yes then you need it. There should be a power wire coming to it and then a lead wire going back to the trailer plug.

Re: Wha is this?
Does it move when you brake? Ours use to and you could push it yourself to engage the trailer brakes.

Re: Wha is this?
If it's connected to the brake system, every time you apply the brakes the lever moves, sending a signal to the electric trailer brakes. And you can apply the trailer brakes manually by moving the lever. Never saw a manual for them.

Re: Wha is this?
I've had one of those in my hands lately-I just went out to see if I could find it-I might have tossed it. I'm real sure it was that same brand-I wonder if that was a brand that the dealers used nationwide or just the dealers in Utah. The donor I that had the one I had never left the State. (I'm assuming your truck is a Utah truck since your a Utah guy.) Hey from Coalville, BTW

Re: Wha is this?
That was a real popular model. you twist the level clockwise to change the braking force. Unless you pulling a large trailer with brakes you won't need it but you never know. The new kinds are a little more advanced.

Re: Wha is this?
It's an older Kelsey-Hayes model. You might be able to Google something about it.

Re: What is this?
The biggest GM truck event in the nation used to be in Ogden.I went a couple times and was disappointed when it was moved to,I believe,Castaic Lake or Magic Mountain California.

Re: What is this?
I had one of those in my truck. I replaced it with a newer model. I noticed my brakes worked a lot better when I replaced it. That one actually ran through my brake fluid system, and I noticed it was giving me problems.

Re: What is this?
OK...the wire to mine is disconnected.
There is a line coming from the block next to the master cylinder running to that controller under the dash. It is my desire to remove it. What do I do with that line? There is a square adapter screwed into the block. Then the line to my brakes is connected to that line. Do I remove the line to the controller, remove the adapter the normal brake line is screwed into and then screw the normal line that goes to my brakes back into that block? Thanks, Tim

Can't say I know Dave. I went to my last 2 years of high school here ('74 &'75) and been here ever since. I seem to remember that T brake controller I had was hooked up to the brake line somehow. That 'Burb I parted came apart pretty fast, and I didn't really spend alot of time one the stuff I didn't need.

Re: What is this?
Just unscrew the lines from the block, unscrew the block from the master cylinder , and then screw the rear line into the master cylinder. The threads and flare are the same. BUT , you'll most likely need to bleed your brakes and be sure to keep some soapy water on hand. Brake fluid eats paint and if you don't wash the residue off promptly you'll be sorry. On the inside of the cab, be sure and place an old towel etc... under the brake line where it screws into the box. The line will drip brake fluid when you take it off and the rags will prevent you from ruining carpet, mat etc...
It's a simple deal that shouldn't take but a few minutes. Good luck, Dean

Re: What is this?
I yanked all but the electric brake controller out yersterday along with thei associated doodads alsewhere on the truck. CB Radio mount, CB Radio antennas, winch controller, bumber grill/snowplow attachment light switch...which actually worked by the way.
I will be selling the switch and the bumber grill/snowplow attachment thingy. Nothing else I removed worked.
