Power steering ?

I was givin a 67 longbed I want to shorten/lower and just make a nice truck. My question is I have a 81 blazer 4x4 and a 84 shortbed 4x4 just wondering if the steering boxes would work in the 67? They are 4x4 boxes so not sure if they are the same as 2wd.
Thanks Jack

Re: Power steering ?

I KNOW IN 67-72 TRUCKS THE 4X4 STEERING GEAR BOXES HAVE A LARGER OUTPUT SHAFT THAN THE 2WDs.
I ASSUME GM KEPT UP THE PRACTICE (TILL TODAY) BUT I COULDN'T SAY FOR SURE. JOHN

Re: Power steering ?

2wd drive steer boxes move side to side, 4x4 boxes front to back.... or is it the other way around anyway, nope the will not work for you 67. Find a 2wd drive box from a about 76 & down and you'll be set.
