Re: will these headers fit?
Those look nice! I'd also be interested to see if they fit. My frame has been cut a little to clear the ghetto ones I have on there now, but the flange is crap and they hang way too low for my current setup.
I want to find some that are cheap, but work (less than $200 is cheap for my build). |

Re: will these headers fit?
Hey guys, havent had a chance to check the links. I just ordered headers from summit for my truck (67 longbed/70' 350ci). Just got them on recently. Did anyone else have problems with fitment on drivers side? I had to notch the frame slightly to squeeze em in there. Apologies for jackin the thread...but anyone have any clutch issues? Headers are on..but clutch linkage hits them. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: will these headers fit?
That would be a hell of a price if they do fit.
I have a set of hedman elite 3/4 length hedder w/the ball joint fitting but I paid double that price. Let us know if you get them and how the work out. See if you can return them if they don't fit. B-Dub |

Re: will these headers fit?
I have these:
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=10605 They fit inside the frame rails fine - and haven't colored or anything. My dad also has them on his '86 454 dually - which has considerably more miles than my truck with the same results. They are excellent. I would recommend them. Wow - these were less than $200 when I bought them. Last edited by Orange; 10-06-2006 at 04:01 PM. |

Re: will these headers fit?
Why do you want to run the pipes in the frame rails? I can't see any advatages personally, and i can see heating up the fuel (vapor lock) and the brake fluid (vapor lock... no brakes).

Re: will these headers fit?
I have a 3/5 drop and my headers run way under my frame. I have never scraped them on anything. But dont know how low yours are.

Re: will these headers fit?
So just tuck them up close to the body, no need to put them in the frame rails.
Maybe I'm missing something. |

Re: will these headers fit?
I got similiar headers from them, only not stainless just ceramic coated.
I do not know on fitment just yet as I don't have the motor back from the machine shop to verify. I did call them and talked to one of their staff and he wasn't aware of any fitments issues, but that was a before the sell talk too I can't see right now why they won't clear, but I am almost positive using these will create an issuse with the stock tranny linkage.I will know the answer in a couple of weeks. Andy, there seems to be a lot of guys doing this with the exhaust lately, and I personnaly haven't heard of any issues. Do you know of anybody who has done this and have those problems occour? I am at the point where I need to make the call to stay in the rails of go under them. I want to stay inside the rails so the look from the side is alot cleaner and this will be a driver and I want to be able to not worry about ever dragging the exhaust.
