Re: Bed Question, Please Help!!!

just change the fill tubes from the '82 over to your '73 because they will be a little different...but that is all you should have to do

Re: Bed Question, Please Help!!!

You need to look at the diameter of the 82 filler neck and the size of the opening on the 73 tank, I am pretty sure you will find the 73 tank is smaller. I had a tank from a 77 and the opening on it was smaller than the filler neck on my 86.

doesn't matter, but the neck size is different. I made an adapter from the plumbing aisle at Home Depot to get mine to work.

Re: Bed Question, Please Help!!!

My 80 model had the original filler tubes punched out for the old leaded gas nozzles, so I used the 87 filler tubes that attach to the bed cut the rubber hoses to attach to the lower part of the 80 filler tubes on the tanks.

Re: Bed Question, Please Help!!!

Not to hijack thread but if you add a second tank, can you just tie both returns and supply lines together and the gas be drawn from both tanks equally?
If the pump succked at a different rate from one tank than the other, would the level equal out when not running?
I was wanting to add a second tank to mine but it seems like a big hassel with the switch and wiring.
